Meet the Croner Leadership Team

 

Hali Croner

President and Chief Executive Officer has over 30 years of consulting and research experience in the fields of compensation design and implementation. Hali works extensively with senior management and Boards of Directors of media, digital, entertainment, software games, and casino games organizations to help them create and keep current their compensation programs. She started her career as a Research Analyst with SRI International, an international think tank, and was a Staff Consultant at Sibson & Company, a compensation consulting firm, before joining The Croner Company in 1989. Hali is a graduate of Dartmouth College where she earned membership into Phi Beta Kappa.

Ed Sileo

Vice President, Surveys, joined The Croner Company in 2008. Ed leads The Croner Company’s annual compensation Surveys and the firm’s long-term initiative to maximize efficiencies and use of automation. He plays a key role in service to the Survey participants through regular and special compensation Surveys, as well as leading the special analyses conducted for Survey participants. He has over 15 years of compensation administration experience in the healthcare industry. Ed graduated from Syracuse University with a dual degree: B.S. in Communications and B.A. in Psychology.

 

Kimberly Rochat

Managing Director, Consulting, brings over 25 years of compensation consulting experience, developing and implementing rewards strategies and executive and employee compensation programs to support the achievement of business goals. Kimberly has worked with pre-IPO to Fortune 100 companies across industries. Prior to joining The Croner Company in 2019, Kimberly was co-founder and Principal at Cobalt Strategies, Inc. and served as Practice Leader for Compensation and Performance Management at Deloitte & Touche, LLP in San Francisco. She also served as a senior compensation consultant at iQuantic, Inc., Watson Wyatt Worldwide, and THC Associates, a boutique firm specializing in annual incentive programs. She earned a Ph.D. and MA in Organizational Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Berkeley, with her doctoral dissertation focused on employee incentive programs, and she holds a BA in Psychology from the University of California at Davis, with minors in Organizational Studies and Rhetoric and Communication.

Gabriel Barkin

Director, Operations, joined The Croner Company in 2017. Gabriel is responsible for the operational functions of the company, in the areas of Finance, Administration, Information Technology & Communications and Human Resources. As a member of the company’s leadership team, Gabriel coordinates the implementation of long-term strategic plans and participates in development and operational support of the firm’s marketing, sales, survey and consulting activities. For over twenty years prior to joining The Croner Company, Gabriel held key operational leadership roles in consulting firms that focused on employee development, benefits and compensation. He holds an MBA from Golden Gate University (summa cum laude) and a B.A. in Business Administration from Dominican University (summa cum laude).

Bob Dubow

Controller, joined The Croner Company in 2019. Bob has over 30 years of business leadership experience and is responsible for the company’s accounting, financial reporting and cash management. Bob graduated from the University of California Berkeley with a B.A. in economics and has an MBA from the University of Virginia.

Mel Croner

Chairman and Founder, founded The Croner Company in 1978. Mel is well known both nationally and internationally as a strategic and organizational resource to numerous domestic and international companies. He started his career at The RAND Corporation, then spent eight years as a Senior Partner at Arthur Young before founding The Croner Company. Mel is an honors graduate of Dartmouth College and has an MBA from Carnegie-Mellon University.

Pete Culver

J. P. “Pete” Culver

Chief Investment Officer, is the third principal at The Croner Company. Pete is one of the nation’s experts in the field of physician and hospital compensation programs. He spent six years at Arthur Young before joining The Croner Company in 1979. Pete is a graduate of Duke University and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School.

 

Consulting Team

Lisa Dyakovski

Senior Consultant, joined The Croner Company in 2010. Lisa leads compensation analyses for a wide range of consulting projects. Prior to joining The Croner Company, she spent three years as an Analyst for an economic consulting firm. She earned a B.S. in Economics with Honors with a minor in Human Rights from the University of Washington.

 

Judy Weinstein

Senior Consultant, is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) with over twenty years of compensation experience developing competitive pay programs, including management bonus programs, long-term incentive plans and equity-related projects. She has provided compensation program consultation to clients in a variety of industry sectors including foundations, nonprofits, entertainment, healthcare, insurance, media, aerospace, financial, consumer goods, and hospitality. Prior to joining The Croner Company in 2019, Judy founded JRW & Associates in 2006 and prior to that held various Compensation and HRIS roles for the Walt Disney Company, including the corporate role of Director Executive Compensation. Judy recently served on the Board of Trustees of the Pacific Clinics Foundation and has been active in numerous volunteer organizations including Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Conservancy and Inner Circle Foster Care and Adoption Agency. Judy holds a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge, a M.A. degree in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College and a certificate in Human Resources Management from California State University, Northridge.

 

Melissa Bixby

Senior Consultant, joined The Croner Company in 2021. She leads compensation analyses for a wide range of consulting projects. Melissa has over 25 years of global human resources and consulting experience. Prior to joining The Croner Company, she founded Red Shoe Consulting, LLC, with a focus on compensation design, talent management, pay equity audits and fractional HR services for small to medium size companies. Prior to Red Shoe, Melissa served in human resources executive and leadership positions with Multimedia Games Inc., SigmaTel, Inc. and Toppan Photomasks, Inc. Her early career included HR leadership roles at companies such as Sears Customer Care Center, Capital Network Services, Inc., Monell Chemical Senses Center and Financial Industries Corporation. Melissa earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Computer Science from Millsaps College. She also holds the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designations.

 

Marj Atkins

Consultant, joined The Croner Company in 2021. She leads compensation analyses for a wide range of consulting projects. Marj has over 30 years of progressive corporate and consulting experience for global companies such as Mattel, Inc., Disney Consumer Products, Amgen, Deluxe Entertainment and Mercer Consulting. Her areas of expertise include market competitiveness, job architecture, job evaluation, career pathing, incentive plan design, pay practices and annual planning design and administration, reward and recognition programs, and the development of training and communications. Additionally, Marj periodically teaches Compensation and Human Resources courses at USC Bovard and UCLA Extension as part of their HR Certification Programs. Marj earned her BA degree from California State University, Northridge and an MS degree in Industrial Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles.

Blake Levijoki

Consultant, joined The Croner Company in 2018. Blake provides compensation analyses and research support for wide range of projects with a focus in executive and board compensation and equity programs. Blake has been an executive compensation consultant working with The Croner Company and StreeterWyatt Governance since 2016. Prior to joining The Croner Company, Blake worked for over 14 years in program, project and personnel management in the government contracting field.

Robyn Berry

Robyn Berry

Consultant, initially joined The Croner Company in 1997, and then rejoined the company in 2009. Robyn leads consulting projects with a focus on developing job architecture and job profiles. She has over 15 years of human resources management for software and nonprofit organizations, compensation consulting and recruiting. Robyn graduated from University of California, Berkeley with a BS with Departmental Honors in Social Sciences with a minor in Russian Language.

Sam Syde

Consultant, joined The Croner Company in 2015. He supports our consulting engagements with research and analytical support. He brings prior experience in survey research and political analysis to the role. Sam graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Environmental Science, Policy and Management.

Divya Rane

Consultant, joined The Croner Company in 2017. She manages consulting projects in the areas of job architecture design, base pay programs, short- and long- term incentive plans, sales and executive compensation. As Consultant, she leads analyses and develops findings and recommendations for client projects. Divya brings nine years of experience in designing and implementing global compensation programs for IT and Ad Tech industries. Divya earned a Bachelor of Management Studies from Mumbai University.

Mamta Saharan

Consulting Analyst, joined The Croner Company in 2018. She leads analysis and develops findings and recommendations for a wide range of compensation projects. Mamta brings six years of experience in research, analysis and consulting for the nonprofit, power and real estate industries. Mamta earned a dual MBA in Human Resources and Marketing from ICFAI Business School – Hyderabad, India.

Bei Li

Consulting Analyst, joined the Croner Company consulting team in 2019. She provides research and analyses for compensation consulting projects. Bei worked as a Survey Analyst from 2008-2010 for the Croner survey team. She also has four years of experience in economic and government finance research. Bei holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Hunan University, China and an M.A. in Economics from the University of California, Davis.

Tyler Chorpash

Consulting Analyst, joined the Croner Company in 2021. Tyler provides research and analytical support for compensation consulting projects. Prior to joining The Croner Company, he had six years of experience in executive compensation consulting and corporate compensation and human resources for the health care, technology, and entertainment industries. Tyler graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Economics and holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation from the HR Certification Institute.

Manager, Survey Process, joined The Croner Company in 2010. Brian leads the team of Survey analysts and project manages the production of the nine annual reports. He brings a background in forensic consulting and data analysis. Brian graduated cum laude from Northeastern University with a B.S. in dual concentrations in Accounting and Finance.

Manager, Survey Content and Marketing, joined The Croner Company in 2010. Susan leads company marketing efforts and participates in design, analysis and report writing for Survey projects. She has over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate management and development. Susan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Rhetoric and Communications Studies and a minor in Art History.

Laurie Krashanoff

Manager, Account Relations, joined The Croner Company in 2012. Laurie is responsible for the development and management of relationships with all Croner Survey clients. Throughout her 20 years in the software and high technology fields, a large portion of Laurie’s career was dedicated to creating customer and partner programs. Laurie graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University with a B.S in Marketing and concentration in Psychology and also attended the International Studies program at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England.

Lisa Allen Cook

Senior Survey Analyst & Publishing Specialist, joined The Croner Company in 2015. Lisa worked for nine years as an Equity Research Analyst / Editor at an investment bank, followed by three years as Chief Financial Officer for a boutique corporate investigations firm. Lisa graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Human Biology and attended the University of Southern California Gould School of Law.

Joshua Kipp

Senior Analyst, joined The Croner Company in 2017. As a member of the Survey team, Josh’s responsibilities for Survey projects include questionnaire development, data analysis, cleaning and testing, and report writing. Josh graduated from Skidmore College in 2012 with a B.A. in Philosophy.

Robert Smith

Senior Analyst, joined The Croner Company in 2018. As a part of the survey team, Robert’s responsibilities include supporting all aspects of the survey process from questionnaire development to the review of participant submissions, assisting with the extensive data cleaning and testing process and providing analytical support for development of survey reports. Robert graduated from UC Berkeley in 2017 with a B.A. in Economics.

Dalit Muzzarelli

Senior Survey Analyst, joined The Croner Company in 2012. Dalit’s previous experience included 15 years as a consultant in marketing and finance capacities. She graduated summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, San Diego with a B.A. in Quantitative Economics and Decision Sciences and earned an M.B.A. with honors from the University of California, Berkeley—Haas School of Business.

Account Relations Representative, joined The Croner Company in 2014. She contributes to the development and management of relationships with all Croner Survey clients. Jane has over 25 years of executive administration experience supporting CEOs in the fields of innovation management consulting, brand strategy and nonprofit organization management. Jane received a B.A. in Politics and Government from Ohio Wesleyan University, a Certificate in Publishing from UC Berkeley and a teaching credential at Sonoma State University.

Gavin Erezuma

Associate Analyst, joined The Croner Company in 2021. As a member of the Survey team, Gavin’s responsibilities include data analysis, cleaning and testing, and follow-up support. Gavin graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2001 with a B.F.A. in Product Design and from Mills College in 2020 with a M.A. in Interdisciplinary Computer Science.

Executive Assistant to the CEO, joined the Croner Company in 2019. She provides administrative and project support to Hali Croner and the Consulting team.  Joanne has over 20 years of executive administration and human resources experience supporting CEOs and diverse company teams in Marin County.

Chesli Jones

Senior Programmer / Analyst (Full-Stack), joined The Croner Company in 2015. He administers the company’s databases, maintains the existing web applications, and is developing the company’s new client and administrative web applications. His professional experience includes creating solutions and integrating them with existing company technologies to enable efficiencies and security in business processes. Chesli holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Natelle Fitzgerald

Production Associate, joined The Croner Company in 2021. Natelle executes desktop publishing and graphic design services for Croner client deliverables. She has over ten years of experience in marketing and graphic design for non-profit organizations and commercial real estate companies. Natelle graduated from California State University, Chico with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Spanish Language. She also studied graphic design at San Francisco State University.

Nancy Clary

Accountant, is responsible for the Croner Company’s transactional financial processes, including Accounts Payable and Receivable, bank reconciliations and collections. Nancy’s prior experience includes over 25 years in accounting management and financial reporting for a variety of businesses. Nancy holds a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Janina Orozco

Janina Orozco, Accounting and Operations Assistant, joined The Croner Company in 2021. She is responsible for Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables and other vital financial operations. Janina’s prior professional experience includes 12 years of administrative and accounting roles in education and in property management and landscape companies.

Eugene Palmer

Eugene Palmer

Chief Information Officer, plans and oversees all systems, databases and applications for The Croner Company. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional, Small Business Specialist having qualified for SBS 2003 and SBS 2008. He plans, provides and supports all IT for The Croner Company. When he is not assisting at The Croner Company, Eugene is the Theater Supervisor at the University of California, Berkeley department of Theater, Dance and Performance Studies handling lighting, sound, video and rigging. He holds ETCP certifications as an Entertainment Electrician as well as Theater Rigger and Arena Rigger.
