We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will share our passion for creating superb data-driven reports and trend analyses for our world-class clients in the dynamic industries we serve.

We are a consulting small firm that for 30 years has been producing high quality surveys and compensation consulting expertise for world-leading companies in five industries – software games, online content and service, animated film, television and cable networks and cable operators.

As a Survey Data Analyst, you will learn fast and become deeply involved in every aspect of our annual survey process – from preparing for and attending the planning meeting, participating in questionnaire development, analyzing submissions and following-up with clients, to intense data preparation, data cleaning, data transformation and analysis, and finally report writing and editing.  Day- to-day this means you’ll spend a lot of your time working with large data sets.

·        Roughly 30% of the time you’ll analyze the survey submissions and work directly with participants to clarify and complete their responses.

·        About 10% of the time you’ll compile databases in Excel and Access, then analyze and clean the data.

·        Roughly 10% of your time you’ll write syntax / scripts for our statistical software (SPSS) to “crunch” the data, produce draft reports and test the data before finalizing the report.

·        The remaining 50% of the time will be involved with many other activities that vary with each phase of each survey cycle, including preparing analyses for presentations, running special analyses of the survey data, editing reports, workbooks and presentations.  You also will be relied upon to improve processes through work-flow efficiencies and automation.

This job requires a combined focus on both the smallest detail and the “big picture.”  Our ideal candidate must share our passion for the highest quality work product, constant learning and continued technical improvement.  We find that our way of doing things is unique and during your first year you must expect a steep learning curve.  You will be a key member of the survey team and you will be relied on to help us meet our deadlines, especially during our publishing season.  During known publishing crunch times, from time-to-time we require additional hours and some weekend hours to meet required deadlines.  Other requirements include:

·        BA or BS in statistics, business, economics, finance, or a related field.

·        Advanced Excel skills (macros a plus); familiarity with statistical software (SPSS a plus); experience with database software (Access a plus); coding / scripting (Java Script) a plus; ability to quickly develop advanced skills in the software we use; strong technical aptitude.

·        Excellent English language skills: oral and written.

·        1+ years of quantitative data analysis.

·        Commitment to the highest work quality and customer service.

·        Ability to think about "a better way to get it done.”

·        Adept at multi-tasking and adapting one’s work to meet shifting priorities.

Compensation and benefits:

The starting compensation for this position is $50,000. The Croner Company benefits package includes generous medical benefits for employee and dependants, 401(k) with company matching and accrued vacation.
